What is Smart Detection?

Smart Detection is an AI solution that continuously analyzes live video footage from bridge cameras. The system detects and signals:

The AI generates notifications only when there is actual risk, so operators are not unnecessarily distracted. Notifications are integrated directly into operator interfaces such as SCADA or displayed in a visual dashboard.

In partnership with Equans and TriOpSys

Pegamento develops and delivers AI detection technology. For successful implementation within existing infrastructure, we work closely with technical partners such as Equans and TriOpSys.

With Equans we implement Smart Detection as part of the Smart Bridge Assistant, for example at the Mathenesserbrug and other locations in Dordrecht, Zaandam and Amsterdam.
Together with TriOpSys, we are working on the integration of Smart Detection within the bridge control systems of Department of Public Works. Among other things, TriOpSys provides the integration platform and control technology with which our AI communicates directly.

These collaborations ensure that Smart Detection is not only smart, but also robust, scalable and directly applicable within the landscape of critical infrastructure.

A striking example is the deployment at the Pompekliniek, a forensic psychiatric center in Nijmegen. After several escape incidents, a more proactive approach with AI was chosen. Smart Detection from Pegamento was deployed to detect suspicious movements and deviant behavior, such as sneaking towards a fence or unauthorized stay in outdoor areas, at an early stage.

Thanks to this effort, the number of incidents has been greatly reduced and security has been structurally improved.
